Owners Gary and Tracy Roe, both Oregon natives, each grew up within 10 miles of Leisy Rd.  While living and working in Hillsboro city limits for over 10 years, they patiently searched for a piece of property that was in the country yet not in the “boondocks”, with room to raise their two small children yet still be close to their business in town.  They looked steadily for two years, but nothing fit the bill. Then in 1998, they had a tip from a friend that a scenic 32 acres on Leisy Road was for sale by owner.  Tracy had grown up nearby in a home facing west with an unobstructed view of the coast range, just like the house at Hawks Run Estate, and immediately felt at home. Gary, too, loved the spacious property with the variety of the rolling field, woods and stream. They soon after visited the owners and struck a deal.  The home, built in 1962, badly needed updating and they went to work and completed that remodel in 1999.

The family enjoyed the property to its fullest - growing Christmas trees, 4-wheeling and dirt biking, exploring the forest, watching the wildlife and spectacular sunsets over the mountain range. The kids grew up, and are now both very involved in the family businesses.

The idea for renting the property arose after the family went to four weddings within a year’s time, and had to travel over an hour to each location. The weddings also had one similarity, which was they all took place at a barn venue. With those factors in mind, we decided to share our estate, which includes an overnight suite at the house, and a lovely barn and grounds.

We are passionate about giving clients the ability to experience the outdoors in a comfortable and accommodating environment.
